CCRG: Planning a Partnership

- The EdReady math course is available for exploration. To access the course, please follow the directions here..
- A bare bones version of the NROC English course is also available. Please note that this is still a work in progress. To access the English course, follow the directions here.
- If your college or high school is interested in participating in Phase II, please contact Susan Barbitta (barbittas@nccommunitycolleges.edu) or Laura Kalbaugh (lmkalbaugh@waketech.edu). A small amount of funding is available for up to ten college partnerships. In order to qualify for potential funding, you must indicate interest by April 26th.
CCRG Update (provided by Susan Barbitta, 11.18.16):
- Seven college/high school partnerships are underway for the 2016/17 school year
- A minimum of an additional 12 partnerships are planned for Phase II
- GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) will provide funding to their high school / community college partnerships.
- There is a small amount of funding available for other Phase II partnerships
- A state-wide math course has been created for use
- Content complete
- Awaiting ‘delivery’ of the course from NROC
- Will be sent to the committee for review
- Use of this course is optional
- Work has begun on a state-wide English course
- Content nearly complete
- Will be available in the Virtual Learning Community (VLC) Spring 2017
- Upon completion will be sent to the committee for reivew

College Administrators were asked to send nominations for members of the College and Career Ready Leadership Team to the NCCCS in late November, and representatives from Math, Reading/English, and stakeholder organizations were selected.
The team held a conference call meeting on December 9, 2015. This was a preliminary meeting, including introductions of the committee members and a discussion of the timeline for the work of the committee.
On February 10, 2016, an email was sent to team members with information about items of consideration. See attached update below for points of discussion.
On March 18, 2016, a report was presented to the North Carolina Community College Board (pages 79–83 of the pdf of the report below).
On May 31, 2016, a meeting was held at the NCCCS office in Raleigh. Notes from the meeting can be found below.
